A working artist for the past 40 years, William Jeffrey Jones currently works out of his two studios in Southwest Missouri, creating exquisite figurative sculptures and pottery in fired clay.

Dragonfly Ware

“Nobody comes out of the womb knowing how to play the violin.”

Wheelthrown production pottery is one thing, while wheelthrowing and hand sculpting each individual dragon mug is a whole other level of performance and perspiration. As a result, the dragonfly ware and dragon mugs are always limited runs.

“Creepy Jack,” here, is about 32” tall, including the wheelthrown base. Fired stoneware with underglazes and acrylic painted patina. Sculpted solid, then hollowed and fired.
